Micro SD card just stopped being recognized

Natanael,
Unfortunately, in order to reformat the SDCard it has to first be recognized by the phone or computer that you're plugging it into. If the SDCard gets corrupted and won't be recognized in any device that you put it in you're pretty much out of luck.
If it's a SanDisk device you should contact them right away - they've had a known issue with the Galaxy S III.

I have been having the same problem and it all started as soon as I started flashing roms. The more I flash the wirse it got until today after I flashed a kernel that supposedly is formatted to read fat32 sd cards and I guess mine wasn't so after that I flashed back a different kernel and it wouldn't read it at all saying its either blank or not formatted correctly. Then after I flashed back to an older rom it wouldn't read at all, when I go to storage in settings it has option to Mount Sd Card but when I press it nothing happens. My sd card is a San Disk 32gb Class 4 I believe, but unlike you I am using the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SPH L900. When I bought my sd card it came as a 2 for package with 2 32gb cards. The first card got fried by my first Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 in less than a couple of weeks that I had the phone, making the sd card completely unreadable even to my pc. I will check today if my pc can still read the data because I have almost 30gb of important data that I haven't yet stored in Dropbox...And what really sucks is a huge portion of that data is my Titanium BackUp Apps and Data, all my TWRP Nandroid Backups, a lot of my apps settings, and about 10Gb of Chess videos I downloaded off of Chess.com using Advance Video Downloader... So it will really blow balls if my Sd Card is fried via either the different flashing of roms or kernels or both, or if its something that all Samsung phones do eventually to the Sd Card if you root and flash custom ****. I know before I went Samsung Note 2, I had Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G rooted, and for the 5 or months I had the phone I really don't remember having an Sd Card issue, if so then it was so seldom that I just can't recall a time. Before that I was all HTC with My Touch 3G Slide and My Touch 4G Slide and both were Rooted and S-Off and I had each for at least over a year each, and I flashed custom **** all the time and not once did I experience said problem, but they also had the 8Gb Sd Card Class 2 or 4 that phones used come with before they started making phones with more than a few Gb of Internal Storage, and since the two threads that I found on this issue, both here and on XDA had the same similarities, in which both the threads were from people with Samsung phones, either Samsung S3 or Samsung Note 2, and both threads the people had 32Gb Sd Cards so I am not sure if its Samsung's fault or the 32Gb Sd Card's fault, since in both cases the phone company was same but different model, and the Sd Cards were same size but different brand and class....

Anyways just wanted to share so that others know that this problem isn't just isolated with them, and if anyone comes up with a fix please post it here or email me at genkstar420@yahoo.com.....

There is a known problem with SanDisk cards and s3, maybe others too. Called them up, explained that on their site they post this as known issue. I got RMA from them and sent it back for replacement but don't recall now if he ever said issue was resolved with new cards.

'So, if your MicroSD isn't being recognised, pull it out, format it (FAT32) and reinsert. Should work fine.'

Thanks .... Worked for me !
