Micro SD card won't show up in file manager, but will show up in apps and still works.

Phone is a Moto E4. All the apps on the card still work. Only problem is the card not showing up in file manager.

Welcome to Android Central! To the OP, was the card formatted as Internal Storage or Portable Storage?

Adoptable Storage isn't a scam -- it's just a workaround for low internal storage that is sometimes poorly implemented by manufacturers. Users should not expect it to work just as well as having that same amount of onboard Internal Storage -- SD cards have a lot of limitations, including a finite lifespan (that's significantly shortened by constant read-writes when formatted as Internal Storage), as well as generally lower quality compared to onboard memory.
