Hey everyone, got a big issue right now with unusual battery drain and I know this might sound funny but I think it might be the micro SD causing this. Not sure if I should take it off or not.
I just wanna know if micro SD cards hamper battery life and also overall performance of the device.
PS - I only store media files and backups on my SD card.

It's possible. The main scenario I can think of is if you had some faulty or corrupt media file on the SD card, and the Media Scanner app was stuck trying to scan that app. Whenever you plug in an SD card, or whenever you start up your phone, the Media Scanner scans all storage areas to look for media (makes sense, doesn't it;)). I've read of issues where a corrupt file will make the Media Scanner just keep trying to scan that file, which makes it constantly run, which saps battery. You should be able to see if that's the case by looking at your battery stats and seeing if Media Scanner is a big percentage.
