First of all, thank you for any help. As a tenured member of other forum websites I understand that nobody wants to take their time to help a noob such as myself since I am obviously trolling for help and not really a contributor to the site. With that said:

My EVO 3D fell (accidentally I swear!) and the screen shattered. I decided to attempt and fix it myself via ebay and youtube.

After I got everything put back together it worked great (internet, text, touchscreen, etc.). Then I called someone and they could barely hear me on the other line. I would have to shout for them to be able to hear me.

I double checked the internal microphone cord and it seemed to be connected.

On accident, I found that if my headphones are plugged in the microphone works normal and people can hear me.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again for your time.

I agree, looks like you may have damaged the mic (either the actual receiver, the wire, or the connection) in the fall. If you have insurance you may want to look into going to a repair center; if not, maybe looking into bluetooth would be a good idea.

Sorry, that really kinda sucks.

Thanks guys. That's kind of what I figured. I was thinking bluetooth also, just hoping there may be some miracle setting that would fix it. No insurance of course.

The funny thing that I have learned from this is that I don't really need the phone portion as much as I thought. If the phone's internet or text or apps didn't work I would have already replaced the phone but I have found that actual "phone calls" aren't as necessary.

I don't really use my phone as a phone either, to be honest. Heh.

Sorry to hear that. (Pun intended :p) Bonus points to you for attempting the repair yourself.

Speak for yourself. I'm MEAN!

Anyway, back to the original poster. I don't really have anything to add, but I just wanted to say, Welcome.
