This was not the reason for the Skype delay.
There were two factors:
1. I heard some whispers that Verizon and Skype had a little tussle over contract issues and development issues, as 'Skype Mobile with Video' is a Verizon product, not Google or HTC. This was since resolved but it put a delay on Verizon integration.
2. I heard some rumors that Skype Mobile (and you beta users I'm sure noticed) had some issue maintaining a call if signal transitioned from LTE to CDMA. I have not heard if this has been resolved, or if it will, or if these were just rumors.
Otherwise, the product is fine, again as I am sure many of you whom got the leaked version. Microsoft, if anything, would speed up the process to get it out to phones. However, chances are that transition will not actually go into effect for a while yet. The main integration you will see immediately will not even be on phones... more than likely desktop Windows Live Messenger will get real cosy with desktop Skype Messenger, meaning you may be able to video call someone on Windows Live from Skype, or vise-versa.
And I would laugh hysterically if Skype suddenly was less "compatible" with Apple products. (That won't happen)
