Nexus 4 and 10 Incompatible With Mifare Classic NFC Tags | NFC Brief

I have some Mifare Classic NFC tags so I can test this when my Nexus 4 arrives but if anyone can verify this I would appreciate it.

Just curious, are your 1ks that work 14443 Type A's?

according to xda developers mifare 1k classics won't work. Apparently they are not compliant with NFC standards. Too bad as I have 10 tags that i bought before and used with my Nexus s 4G

I emailed them and the 1k versions do not work. The NTAG203 tags will work though. They are out of stock right and won't have anymore for 4 weeks.

You can, use any of the standard tag types from the NFC forum. Types 1-4 should work, as they are not proprietary. Identive has some you can buy here.

Be careful with type 2, sometimes those are confused with "mifare" tags which are proprietary.

I must be slow, but i just discovered these. Been rocking an old phone without NFC. When I am older i might get these as business cards. *scan for contact details in phone*

I bought these tags (a couple months ago prior to the N4 announcement) and they work on my Nexus 7, but not on my Nexus 4 (both running 4.2.1).

Those tags won't work on your Nexus 4. They are MIFARE Classic tags, which is the same type of tags featured in the Amazon link.

My Samsung tech tiles work fine with my nexus 4. Just needed to use NFC reader instead of the Samsung app.
