Tymansdaddy is right MikShift is running froyo while MikShifted G is running Gingerbread. MikShifted G also integrates some Sense 3.0 aspects, which are pretty slick. It a really smooth good looking ROM. I've been using it for about a week or so and haven't seen any issues.

ohhh okay that makes sense yeah i have been running mikshifted G for almost two weeks and i love it! i think its the best overall ROM for the shift. You guys know where to get differnt skins besides from the mik website? They don't have that many.

How do you install this rom without rooting GB? Am I missing something?

You can't flash this without root..

Hmmm, so until the dev figure a way to root GB, I am just stuck with what I have huh?
