I just received my Motorola Milestone to be used on AT&T's network. The phone itself is great. However, I have a bit of a problem. I put my sim card in and can make/receive phone calls. Wifi works too. However, I am not able to connect to AT&T's data network. I know it's not 3g, but edge should work. The response is usually network error or something similar.

Does anyone know if there is some sort of settings I'm missing that should be on the phone to make it work? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

that is an odd situation. when something like that happened to me, i had to call and get the data part of my plan reconfigured or reinitalized or whatever they had to do. what did att say?

First off all does the milestone support ATT's 3G frequency? If it does, and if its anything like running an unlocked storm on ATT (Which i did for a friend), you need to send the ATT service books to get data..

I figured it out after much searching and digging. Milestone does not work on AT&T's 3g frequency. It will work on the lower scale of AT&T's data network. Not that I could really tell the difference in speed anyway. I popped the sim card out of my iphone and into the milestone. I found that you have to setup the data connection setting for milestone. If anyone needs it in the future, here it is:
