Minimize App without Interrupting Audio

Hello, I have been looking through settings, but cannot determine a way to keep my app audio from being interrupted if I minimize.

Specifically, I am using Smart Voice Recorder, and playing back clips of my audio journal. Yes, I could send it to my laptop, or maybe try playback in a different app, but this would be immediately preferable.

I tried searching for the app in Draw Over other Apps, but it isn't listed there, even after clickin More Apps. I have no idea what criteria an app must possess for inclusion.

Strangely, it will record fine while minimized, and on my previous phone I did not have this issue.

To do what you are looking for, you probably need to play back the recordings in an app designed for music playback where it is expected that the app be minimized.
