I have a OnePlus 12 that is rooted, up, and running. I disabled the various swiped gestures, because, for me, they are the cause of possible issues and I do have the navigation bar visible at the bottom of the screen. Question: Is there some way to hide the navigation bar when apps run in full screen mode? All of the stuff I have seen on line indicates that swipe gestures need to be enable to do this, but I do not want to go there.

Not sure if you rooting the device has any bearing on this but for me, on my Samsung, the buttons disappear when I open a full screen app. I have to tap or kind of push up from the bottom to get them to be visible. Yours doesn't work this way? Just buttons on all of the time?

Please show us a screenshot of the buttons staying on all of the time while in a full screen app that doesn't have the keyboard open. Having the keyboard open will cause the buttons to also be visible.

What kind of problems do you see coming from swipe gestures?

Are you using a stock or custom ROM?

Have you tried a different UI? Nova and others offer several tweaks and options, I could picture this being one.

Let us know what you find and we'll offer more advice. In the meantime, I have figure out how to go back to gestures after testing this for this thread. I hate these buttons.

Thanks for the circle. Hahaha. Anyway, I hate to be all questions but,

Did you play this game before rooting and the behavior was different then?

Does this happen in other games?

It could be that this game just doesn't see itself as a full screen app or intentionally keeps it open. I say this because in your image the buttons do not get in the way, the app looks optimized to display it this way and I would guess that it would look the same if you turned on gestures, with that extra little white bit at the bottom. Please tell me the name of this app so that I can download it and experiment. Also, please tell me your experience with other apps, and consider showing us a screenshot of an app like this Yatzy game or this Stickman Archer game. Both require the bottom of the screen be visible and the latter also rotates the screen, do the buttons still appear?

This phone has been rooted since day 1. On the previous phone, also rooted, the navigation bar did not appear.

Sorry for having wasted your time. Just checked my recently retired phone and the navigation bar appears on it as well. Guess the difference is the color - on the old phone, it was black background with white arrows - guess that that s what threw me.

It's all good. Thank you for the update. I thought it blended a little too well and looked like it belonged there. Anyway, glad you have peace over this.

See you in the threads.
