Minor update for Verizon S5?

Same here. Still 5.0. I don't notice any different yet. It was a 10 minute update so it must've done something of some importance right?

Then again, it is Verizon so there's always more bloatwear..

I believe the latest update for Verizon was just a stagefright fix. My friend's Verizon S6 just got pushed 5.1.1 today, so maybe the S5 won't be too far behind?

The comments on this Neurogadget story you are quoting confirm the update for the Verizon Galaxy S5 is still 5.0 not 5.1.1. The writer of the story is misinformed and hasn't corrected the story yet.
Oh alright, I believe I seen it on another website, but they were probably just misinformed. I just woke up this morning, and seen that there was an update for my phone, so I search "Galaxy s5 update Verizon" and read that 5.1.1 was the newest update Verizon pushed, but I guess I have to stick with 5.0 for a little longer.

I did, I'm talking about this latest update that was on the 14th. Unless I missed something on the first page?

Does anyone know how easy/hard it is to root the S6 Edge from Verizon? I'm thinking about getting the S6 Edge+ a few months after release.

Oh, Josiah23!

As we say in my country, (in a Cockney voice)... "YOU'RE 'AVIN A LARF AREN'T YOU SUNSHINE?"

Like the S5, the Verizon S6 Edge, G920V, is now un-rootable since firmware release OF1. This also applies to some other manufacturers and models of phones from Verizon. I am guessing the same will apply to the Verizon firmware for the S6 Edge+ as well, if not initially, then very soon after release.

TOP TIP:

Anyone wishing to root a phone should steer clear of either AT&T or Verizon phones that come with their own, "clone", version of manufacturers firmware and unique, non Samsung, mega locked down bootloaders, in future.
