Mirror to Chromecast without "Home" app? Shaw "Freerange" not working

Is there a way to mirror my phone on Chromecast without the Home App?

I have an app called "Freerange" that lets me watch live TV based on my parent's Shaw cable package.

Mirror works great on Chromecast, but I can't mirror that one app because it's restricted. Any way of getting around this?

This is likely a restriction put in place by the cable provider to prevent broadcasting content in ways that violate the TOS for their cable service. I'm not sure there is a way around it.

darn, would be good if there was. might be returning the device if there is no way to do it. too bad!
