Missing AT&T's Band 30

Band 30 is all over Chicago and New York suburbs. It is really important to have for great service in the congested areas. This is a big miss and HTC keeps ignoring questions or why that don't have it.

No, I gave my 10 to a family member and went back to my Nexus 6. I was holding out for the U11. My N6 has b29 but not b30.

I checked on my friends phone in my city and as soon as I launched LTE Discovery it was sitting on Band 30. I'm watching Essential, O+5, and Google P2 now.

30 is big in NYC and surrounding area. Would not get a new phone without it. Just my opinion.

I'm in NYC and my current phone (iPhone 6s Plus) is always on band 12. After finding out that the U11 doesn't have band 30, I did a fair amount of testing all over NYC and Nassau County. Worst comes to worst, I have 30 days to return the phone for a full refund.

You won't have any problem.

I just bought an unlocked LG G6 and didn't realize it didn't have band 30 until afterwards. My town has band 30 and it's a small town in KY. My 6p stays on band 30 a lot, or bounces from it to band 2. It uses band 4 and band 30 in the next town over where I work. I wonder if I'll notice any difference with the G6 without band 30? Wouldn't it just default to band 2 or 4? The last several phones I've had have all had band 30. OP5, OP3, 6P and s8+. I haven't gotten the G6 yet so I guess I'll find out but band 30 isn't just for bigger towns trust me.

I guess it must depend on where you live. Every AT&T branded phone I've owned that HAD band 30 had horrible reception and low signal strength on band 30, and would lock on to it. The only way I could get off band 30 was to keep going to airplane mode and back. My unlocked U11 gets much better signal indoors than my AT&T branded LG V20 and Note 5 before that.

I live in northern Virginia and my U11 gets great reception on bands 2, 4 and 17. No issues with reception at all. My AT&T branded S6 Edge keeps trying to lock onto band 30 which has a poor signal. So, in my situation it's better to have an unlocked phone like the U11 that's missing band 30. Go figure...

You are correct on the Band 30 issue, I can not even trust my AT&T branded phones that have band 30. They always keep trying to lock onto band 30 and as you said band 30 has horrible reception / signal strength. I am only using unlocked phones that do not have band 30 now.
