Missing Images

I took some images this weekend and they were backed up to Google. I viewed the images several times over the weekend, but when I went to look for one today, found that ALL images that the camera had taken were gone. The folder "SAMSUNG-SM-N910V\Phone\DCIM\Camera" is empty.

I "thought" that all the images were being stored on my SD card, but I'm now guessing that the pictures the camera was taking (with the stock camera app) were being saved to the internal memory, and somehow, that folder was "cleaned out".

I checked the SD card, and there's no corruption. I have quite a few other images (not taken by the Note camera) that I previously put on the SD card, and they all appear to be OK.

Question: Is there a way to have the stock camera store images on the SD card?

Any thoughts on how the images would have been wiped out would be appreciated!

Yes, you can change where the stock camera saves images in Camera settings

Try downloading Quick Pic gallery. Then go into options and tell it to un-hide all folders. If it's anywhere on the device you will see it

My device was not displaying images saved to the device (screenshots, downloaded MMS messages, etc...) Downloaded this app, un-hid all folders, locate the folders I needed, specifically un-hid those folders ...then they appeared back in the stock gallery.

When you install an SD card it should ask if you want the camera to use it for its storage.
The only exception is burst shots, they go to the phone storage by default.
You can change this anytime under the camera app settings. Find the Settings Gear and then the three dots, then see what Storage Location is set for.
Good Luck!

Thanks - I had looked in the camera settings, but didn't see the option initially. I did install QUickPic, but after selecting "Show hidden folders", I still don't have any images that the phone took - Looks like a nice gallery app, however.

It may have asked me initially, but I don't get the prompt after removing and re-installing the SD card.

Guess the lost image will remain a mystery. At least I had backups!
