Missing messages

Just noticed today that i'm missing a text thread from a particular contact. This is practically a new problem for me for samsung coz usually i have problems with group messages which nobody can help me with, even samsung people itself. That contact is still in some group messages & i can see her text but not in individual threads. Please help! I'm really considering of changing to other phones because of these problems.

The only thing I can suggest if you had sync Samsung backup regularly can try to restore messages and see if they come back

Hi, you posted in the forum for the original (and ancient) Galaxy Note phone. Which Note version do you have, so we can move this thread to the proper subforum?

Is it possible that you might have mistakenly deleted or archived that text thread? I don't know about the Samsung Messages app, but with the Google Messages app, it's relatively easy to inadvertently swipe away a text thread (which only archives it, instead of deleting it).

My last backup for messages was a month ago. So new messages will be lost if i restore to that date?

No it shouldn't, but make a back up now just incase

On the main messages screen, tap the Menu button and see if there's an Archived option.
