Do you get phone calls from Mississippi? No, not someone calling from Mississippi, but actually calls from the state, itself? Recently, I have been getting spam calls simply I.D.ed as "Quebec," "Ontario," and "Alberta." Apparently the Google Phone app's spam filters do not understand that Canadian provinces do not make phone calls and scammers/spammers have taken advantage of that fact.
While I haven't answered any of the calls (each using a new phone number) and have manually blocked and reported them to be spam each time one arrived, it's somewhat annoying that the Google Phone app's spam screening and filters can't parse these calls out so I don't have to deal with them. I have all of the available spam screen, filter and block options enabled. I have also sent feedback to Google regarding same.
So, how about it? Do you get phone calls from Mississippi, or is it just Canada-centric scammers/spammers who have figured out how to get calls through using the name of a province (or some other region, territory or state) as an I.D.?
