It could be two things. It could be a "bug" or it could be just some of them do not work on the X, which Im not sure would be considered a bug, maybe cuz its been ported to the X. I am currently using the Ash Bolt theme which every thing but the boot anim works. All the files are there but it still loads the default MIUI boot screen. I also tried a couple of the Chinese character-ed themes and the same result. Could be I just havent picked one from the humongous list that actually works.

I started running Quadrants just now. I dont know exactly why, if someone cares to explain that would be awesome, the numbers kept going up each time I ran one. Im not doing anything to the phone to make it do that. I started off with a 2136 and after the 5th...

I think the more times you run Quadrant it shows it a lil faster each time .On my post above that was my second run of quadrant.
Since the update patch tho my stock camera stopped working ,lol it worked before flashing the patch .I have vignette tho so it not a big deal. They added a torch button too

so I am not an apple fanboi at all.. and based on all the android fanboi's bad comments about miui i was certain i wasn't going to like this and would be going right back to cm7.
but it turns out i like it allot.
it's very clean and speedy. I do however still prefer go launcher over the stock laucher.
although, neat. go launcher IMO is the best launcher out there..

I get the occasional FC on a few things and there are a few minor bugs. but given that it's new to the Dx i'm sure ppl will be working on that..

I'm going to go back to my cm7 backup, get all my stuff and switch back over to miui + go launcher as my daily driver.

Where are you getting your update patches? The camera works for me as I posted earlier, although only the on screen shutter works. I'll have to install my Vignette backup and see if the hardware button works

Okay, so after a few days of messing around with MIUI, this is what I have to say:

Pros:
- Clean (very, verrrrrrry clean)
- Fast (very, veerrrrrrrrry fast)
- Packed full of wonderful utilities and general useful nonsense (the toggles and systems menus almost gave me a nerdgasm).
- 1% battery increments.
- Online support for themes/wallpapers/customization....straight from the phone!...with previews!...that work!...and are fast!
- I love the text messaging app. Go straight to new messages from the lock screen, use the pop-up bubble for quick reading/responding, and the text window itself is fantastic.
- Adding new contacts is really easy. The contacts menu is very quickly navigated as well.
- I do like the fact that there isn't an app drawer, actually. Interestingly enough, I've actually cleaned up a lot due to this, and now only have three homescreens (two for widgets and one for apps/folders).
- The screen brightness control is amazing...thank God. I've always been jealous of people with iPhones who get their screens so dark in dimly lit places while I've been a shining beacon of Droid power consumption. Not anymore!
- Good app compatibility so far.
- Did I mention how good it looks?

Cons:
- Forced closures sometimes.
- Can't get my Liberty splash screen to go away.
- Sometimes the lockscreen needs a second to decide if it wants to work or not (this only happened twice, mind you).
- Battery life hasn't been so hot.

To me, this one's a winner. If I can get the battery to last longer, it might even be permanent. Hopefully that improves with new updates.

AOSP camera isn't part of the new build. The MIUI camera (I think it's the one that is included) works just fine so long as you change the resolution from widescreen.

I'm pretty impressed with this ROM, with the exception of the battery life and nonworking boot animations.

If its anything like graphics cards then any benchmarking tool or app will have to initially load up to your ram and then run. That's why you get the slightly lower scores. When you run the benchmark tool again its there sitting in ram already from the first run so your gonna get a faster reading. Since real world apps aren't always sitting in ram the first run of a benchmark tool is the realworld score.

I changed my bootanimation using Root Explorer with no problem. Renamed the original bootanimation.zip file in system/media to bootanimation.bak, pasted in the bootanimation file of my choosing, then changed permissions (using Root Explorer) to match the original (rw-r--r--). It is working fine.

You can record your calls in this ROM! how cool is that. Save em play em back and share em. That's an awful nice addon

Just ran into a problem with incoming phone calls.

The phone will start ringing (loudly) but the screen won't turn on. When I do manually turn on the screen, it only shows the lock screen. So in order to answer phone calls I have to turn the lock screen on, unlock the phone, then slide down the notification bar at the top, select the call, then slide the "answer call" bar down.

Suggestions? I'm going to wipe and reinstall in the meantime.

yeah i have the same issue.. some people said to turn off voice privacy, but that didn't fix it for me.
if you figure it out let us know

I'm having problems with BT on MIUI as well. It is a PITA just to get it to pair successfully with my 2010 Toyota. Then, the phone won't pair automatically on subsequent encounters, it just says "paired, not connected".

I'm thinking about trying CM7, but I have to find out if BT works first.

I dont have that issue answering phone calls .Im not sure what the fix might be for that be interesting to hear what fixes .I dont use BT .
So far I am not having any major issues ,starting to like this rom more each day.
I did find tho if you werent careful its possible to put a app perfectly on top of another app,or cover it with a widget thus hiding one of the apps.I lost my pop email app that way and took 2 days to fiqure out where the pop email app got to , lol :). But its fixed now.

If you like AOSP GB goodness, CM7 will not disappoint. Like other good AOSP ROMS, CM7 has the ability to dim the phone to ridiculous levels too, careful though, going beyond a 2% and the X will be black (talk about good times with that built in CM7 toggle system in the NP, lol, had to guess, and got as where it was and gesture auto back, then got my screen back and changed back to 10% for low.)

That miui looks sweet, and has iOS candy (with an *** looad of customizations I want to try.) I may try it, but I have been running CM7 for 40 nightly builds, and it just gets better.
