MIUI Ported to the X

Im just glad to say that my only issue was with the beatiful widgets app i would get a force close when i tried to change the clock theme. I did a data restore only from my last backup which restored my theme and now all is good.

Yesterday from the site itself. What a horrible experience that was dude. LOL
After not being abelt o get past the bootloader, I broke down and SBFd to 602 as there was no escape and I needed my phone. Now, the 602 sbf file Ive been using forever didnt flash right and Im missing half the stock apps.

Im gona re-SBF one last time and root and get my ass back on .28 MIUI where I was content. ICS can wait til April when I upgrade, lol

Update - I dont know man this is not my day. I got .28 reloaded and when I went to MIUI Restore to get everything back the way I had it, I now have constant reboots. It will boot to the lock screen and the download icon appears and BAM reboot, non stop. Reset/Cache didnt make any changes. I dont remember what the fix for this was, anyone else?

Cancel. Ok last edit. I am back, another factory reset followed by a battery pull got me back to .28 stock(MIUI). Im just gona restore my apps, I feel the system part is what caused it.

Sorry B, bummer when things don't go your way. I only had force close issues with the Netflix app (When We Were Kings) and that was after playing with Quickclock. Other than that no issues. There are reports that sound rocker is not working and some force closing here and there, but not bad really for a test build. Hope you got it going B.

Update: Using the ICS beta of MIUI and battery life is incredible. Underclocked the phone using QCA and with very little use, battery life is 50% after 38 hours. ;)

Alot of us on .28 are having problems, such as my most recent(see my recent posts here) issues getting that ICS hybrid working because we are on .28 and not 21

I was on .28 and just flashed right over that with just a cache wipe, so no it's not that B. You might have flashed the "FIxed" build intended for non MIUI users, If you want I can post the original zip file that Aceoyame posted. When I flashed the ICS it brought me down to .21 which is not bad really considering it's a solid build with no 3g toggle issues like .28 has. I know the camera..but in a couple of hours here we might be seeing another DXC release and all is for not...the life of an X!

original zip file was 111mb
updated one is 119mb

Original MIUI ICS Zip File..> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11232883/Android Central/MIUI4DX1_11_9-ICS.zip
You'll need to paste the libwebcore.so file into system/lib/ (using root explorer) ...> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11232883/Android Central/libwebcore.so

Optional ICS THEME .....> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11232883/Android Central/iNexus_Ice Cream Sandwich.mtz
Black Ice is cool too! ..> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11232883/Android Central/Black+Ice+by+cgvelmax+2.0.mtz

Those get pasted in to sd/miui/theme/

ICS KEyBoard..> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11232883/Android Central/LatinIME_2.apk

OPTIONAL:
One last thing!!
If you have Beautiful Widgets, theme that to the ICS theme, (found in Clock Settings) BEFORE flashing the ICS zip file. Beautiful Widgets is not updated for ICS so you will get Force closes on that (if going into settings) other than that it's working.

One last thing that you'll probably miss on this build...the 3g, a noticeable upgrade.

Edit - Nevermind, I just re-read the post and how you worded it. OK then, here we go

Yes, paste the updated libwebcore.so file after flashing ics. I edited the post. ;-)

Sent from the future on my Galaxy Nexus.

Ohhhh yea, at last the MIUI/ICS hybrid transformation is a success. Oh man I cant wait to show people a Droid X on Android 4.0.1 lol
Thanks for the help Jedi. I'll toss up an album on my G+ page of screen shots once I get this puppy set juuuuuuuust right.

edit: Scratch all that. I'm gonna wait until an official build comes out before flashing over to ICS.

But since I've been out of the game a while, should I go to .21 or .28? I'm on the original build right now...

Jedi's Theme

Jedi what theme are you using in that picture?

I mixed the theme a bit, MIUI Black Ice is the majority of it, the icons are from MIUI NeonBT and the clock is Beautiful Widgets app with the ICS clock. ;-)

Stay on .21, life will be better.

I didn't realize how much I missed a working toggle switch until I came back to .21 :-)

I think the next ICS build will be next Friday at the earliest, Scotland is what, a half day ahead of us?
