MIUI Ported to the X

I haven't noticed that but I have noticed not being able to turn Data on or off unless I hot boot my phone first.

I did some snooping around and there seems to be a fix for the 3g thingy.

You toggle on airplane mode and then reboot.

I toggled on airplane mode and went ahead and rebooted to recovery to wipe cache and Delvik cache. This seems to have worked. I'll know for sure by tomorrow evening.

Yes please update us on that.

Yes please update us on that.

My 3g has been good all day, had a wifi issue but a reboot fixed that. I'm reading that there's toggle issues with this build.

Edit: 1.10.28 has been pulled till fixes are made to the build. :-(

Update; tHE 3g disappeared again as I thought it might but what the hey, it's a known issue with the toggle switches and DXC is working on a fix for the next build, are any of you out there trying out other roms?

I flashed back to 10.21 as I was having too many WIFI/3G and toggle issues.

stayed at 21 thanks to you guys :). Has anyone else battery life improved greatly with .21? I am now easily getting 12 hours whereas before I was only getting 8-9

I believe overall our battery power has increased since the jump to GB and now off Defy builds. Maybe its just me because of the scripts and apps I run but I am plugging in alot less the past few weeks. I am on .28 and my 3g came back for a visit today.

I have yet to encounter 1 problem with .28. Guess I was one of the lucky ones.

I noticed a vastly improved battery life with the Defy builds. With little use on .21, I got past 20 hours with 40% left.

I noticed on .28 that Juice Defender didn't work as well because of the toggle issues so the charge did not last as long.

MIUI on HOLD

Just got some news that DXC is seemingly leaving the MIUI community, it's rumored that he is "geting rid" of his Droid X. AceOyame (Droid2 Global Developer) though has announced that he could possibly build the MIUI on a Droid X build (HELLO)!!!! So the plot thickens... this is all rumored and gossip at the moment.

"Did you guys forget about me? I'm stuck with my d2g till next april. If dxc quits I'll take over the x. I already do d2 and the d2g. My roms used the x as a base so it'll be easy to port it back". -Aceoyame

Huh. It's too bad that dxc may be leaving. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for the update jersey

Its ok I wanted to add something to the pot myself...

Over @ MIUI there have been similar rumblings about DXC possibly dropping MIUI4DX and someone else taking over, though I hadnt heard the name Jedi dropped yet. Either way the MIUI.ca team is always pumping us here in the states full of what we need to have our builds. We just need to make sure that the demand is high, not nigh. Honestly, with my upgrade not til April, I could run this current 1.10.28 version of MIUI and be perfectly happy, lol but Im keeping up to date still so I can help others. Who wants more pie!

"read through a few of the recent posts. sry to see u guys getting put off. im in the middle of testing week (test 1> test 2 > final, this is test 2). if i don't have time then i don't have time, i make no apology for that. what I do apologize for is saying I would make an announcement this weekend and then not getting around to it. i guess i'm still learning why most devs don't give deadlines.

yes i'm going to the nexus immediately upon its release. ill have to sell my x to help pay the retail price, but it sounds like aceoyame will continue to port for you. unfortunately this will end my support for the x, since I can't support a device I don't have, even if i did have the time. ill be creating one final release, but i'm not going to give a date or a description of what it will contain for obvious reasons.

lastly, i would just like to thank the donors for keeping me in it, and for the users who took pressure off of me by providing user support, or by reminding people not to expect gifts, but instead to be grateful for them.

i will be developing pretty heavily on the nexus, for those of you switching with me. thanks again everyone". - DXC

Just flashed back to MIUI after being on CM7 for awhile and I am wondering what you guys are using for wifi tethering. I was using open garden but that does not seem to work well on MIUI.

Sorry if this is a noob question, but I was wanting to try MIUI again. I couldn't take the terrible battery life when it first came out. Only question is what is the most current version? If I am on Apex right now, do I just need to sbf back to .602 or will I need to be on .605 to get to the latest version of MIUI? Has the battery life improved at all since the Froyo kernel builds?

sbf back to 602, root it, install clockwork, flash 1.10.21 :)

battery life has been improved.. getting 12 hours with moderate use where I was lucky to get 9 under the old base.

. 602 is just fine for miui. I use my phone pretty much constantly and get 16-18 hours of battery with it undervolted. So yes there has been some improvement. Most current available is 10.21 but some people may still have 10.28 which got pulled because of some issues. MIUI.US has the most recent downloads. Welcome back.
