mms app sends pictures immediately attaching photos

So on the Note 4, when I attach photos to a message, I usually user the Gallery, I can't compose a draft. It immediately just sends them. Anyone know why? Can I changes this? Is it an Android 6 thing?

The thing is I don't always know if the picture I attached is what I really wanted to send.

Perhaps try starting from the message app, not the gallery...

thanks Tim. but that is just what I am doing. I am in message app, then start trying to attach. have looked for options to control it.

Ah ok. Try the other way, start from gallery end perhaps...
Not sure why is doing that, usually you get a couple of prompts before it sends. Try the gallery first and if it still does it, we'll walk through one step at a time to see where you are going astray...

I've had this issue as well and as best as I can recall, it started when Marshmallow finally rolled out to my Note 4 (I'm with AT&T so I was really really late to that party). Anyway, I just figured it was some annoying part of the new OS and didn't bother investigating further. I don't send pics via text message all that often to begin with, so it's nothing something I have to deal with on a regular basis. That said, if there's a way to fix this I'm all ears.

what's very strange is sometimes it works the way I expect... usually 3-4 pics per message and I can mix text in there. but most of the time it sends pics one at a time.

thanks for the insight about marshmallow. I suppose that's what I'm on with t-mobile. I will verify it.
