MMS messaged very pixelated.

I take a photo send it via MMS and the photo is so pixelated it's aweful. I understand that they need to be compressed but the quality is so bad.
All my other phones never had this issue. Any ideas?

My other phones were all Samsung S5 S6 S7 S7 all the same carrier. I am from Australia phone purchased from JB HIFI.

I had my camera resolution set to 16:9 2.0mp changed it to 16:9 0.9mp and has made a big difference in quality via MMS. I prefer 16:9 as it fills more of the screen.

What camera resolution does everyone else have?
