MMS pic viewing returns to Gallery

This is bugging me. My S4 on 4.3 has a weird tendency that my last Galaxy (Victory) didn't. When I view a pic from an MMS message and hit Back, I return to the Gallery rather than to the message. How do I change this? Is it a bug or "feature"?
