MMS Straight Talk Issue. CORRECT APN SETTINGS

I created an account to post here and say this is happening to alot of people. There is a discussion on reddit right now and on the straight talk forums. I cant give you links since my account is new but can PM them if needed. You should be able to find on google, just search for stuff from the last week. No one has a solution and between calling the customer service and the straight talk employees on the forum no actual progress has been made. They keep requesting to take the conversation offline and no one has reported back with a working solution, however I encourage you to post on the ST forums hoping if enough people speak up saying they have issues, Straight Talk will fix the problem.

ST contacted me based on my previous post and we did a few tests. I told them that the bulk of the issue is occurring in group messages and they responded that ST doesn't support group messaging. Idk why group messages are any different from standard mms but the rep claims they are different. My wife is able to get some messages but not others. I think we will be looking into t mobile.

I just don't believe them when they say they don't support group mms. First, I never had a problem until recently and it's strange that both me and my wife started having issues downloading mms messages on the same day (and the same as everyone else!). Second, my two daughters, who both have iPhones have no problem with group MMS's on ST. This seems like and Android only problem. I think there's something else going on and ST has no idea. I've ordered two new sim cards. If that doesn't fix the problem then I'll be taking my 4 phones to a different carrier. As a matter of fact, I'm checking out ATT wireless right now...

Nexus 6P on AT&T through StraightTalk, and I haven't been able to receive group texts at all. I can send them, but not receive them it seems. I use Hangouts and have tried checking and unchecking box to to use MMS for group texts, but still nothing.

I also had this problem on my Nexus 6 after upgrading to Marshmallow. No clue.

I purchased a new SIM card and tried the new APN settings... no luck. I even tried a bunch of the old settings. Nothing. This is a real problem and I'm considering switching to AT&T directly or maybe Cricket.

I had the same problem but everytime I would edit the apn using sqlite it would reset back to default every single time. I finally figured it out. You have to also change the field "usercreatesetting" to 0

Ok so I spent 4 hours on the phone with the Straight Talk and I finally got the correct APN settings for my Google Nexus 5 phone to send and receive MMS messages. I was really frustrating dealing with the high call volume issues that Staight Talks Customer Service experiences, but everyone I actually talked to was the typical customer service niceness. Faked, but pleasant. Here are the screen shots of my settings and Ill type them out as well. This is for the AT&T micro sim card inserted into a Google nexus 5 phone. 4.4 Android. Name=Straight Talk APN=tfdata Proxy=not set Port=Not set

Username=not set Password=not set Server=Not Set MMSC= http://mms-tf.net

MMS proxy = mms3.tracfone.com MMS PORT=80 MCC=310 MNC=410

Authentication Type=PAP APN type=default,supl,mms,hipri APN Protocol=IPv4 APN Roaming Protocol=IPv4

Bearer= unspecified MVNO type=None

These settings worked perfectly for my Droid Turbo. I can now send pictures without an issue. Thanks so much for posting this.
