If you did a transfer from a note 8 then the name of the hotspot transferred over also.Trying to figure out why my Hotspot ID shows up as Note 8 instead of Note 10+. I have the new SIM card in.
The Verizon store rep told me it doesn't matter what amount of data I may have used, I am immediately throttled upon enabling my Mobile Hotspot function due to an old plan I have. I find this hard to believe. I should call the corporate help number to confirm this.
If you are grandfathered under the original Verizon unlimited plan that was discontinued years ago, then yes that is true.
To get un-throttled mobile hotspot data, you need to change to one of new unlimited plans or one of the tiered plans.
When I click on either of the options I get an immediate unable to connect - authentication error. Took the phone to Verizon and they did a system reboot, no difference. New sim card no change. One of the techs thought it might be because I had just changed my data plan and to wait till next cycle. If that does not work then a new phone - something I'm dreading. Any suggestions?
