Mobile Hotspot Wont connect to my laptop

I am going to mobile hot spot

allowed devices only

then turn it on and then on my laptop i find it and put in the password (which we cant change, right?) and it says it cant connect

I have done it so many times there is no chance i have put in the wrong password

I am trying to use my phone to provide wifi to my laptop using the phone 4g, as i am in hotel where wifi speed is too slow to use

Anybody know about this?

Depending on your computer I know when I boot mine up the number lock is on and I have to turn it off to ensure that the numbers in the password are actually entered, it is also case sensitive. If this is not the issue then I apologize, it's the only thing I can think of as mine has worked fine right out of the box. Maybe restart the phone to rule that out as well.

I have now tried it with an apple 5 and my samsung, so it is the computer i guess, maybe something about 8.1
