Moisture in charging port

All of a sudden when I plug my phone into charge I'm getting a message that there is moisture in the USB charger or charging port and charging has stopped. It hasn't come in contact with any water but isn't the phone water resistant?

It is but even when resistant electricity and moisture doesn't mix. When it detects moisture it will stop the charge till it is completely dry.
