So ive looked around. Is there a way to root my moment and still be able to install and use apps?

There is, but I don't know if the rules of this forum support linking to another forum. Google is your friend, and you can find it pretty quickly that way (at least I did).

My moment has been rooted for several weeks now, I have not had any trouble installing/uninstalling or using any apps that cupcake supports.
