Thought I would post my results of using Monster/Dr. Dre Beats Studio headphones with an Optimus V, in case anyone was wondering if they are compatible.
Music and talk control both work when you can get the 3.5mm connecter to stay in your OV's headphone jack. Due to the curve on the top of the OV and the fat lip on the Beats cord, it doesn't fully snap in place and is easily knocked loose which diminishes sound quality. This makes it near impossible to listen to music while walking with your phone in your pocket. If you plan on listening to music with your phone stationary on a table or in your lap, you shouldn't have a problem keeping the cord connected to your phone.
Summary..
-Does it work?.. Yes.
-How's the sound quality?.. Great, if you can keep it fully connected..
-Is it your best option for wired headphones?.. Probably not. All other headphone's I've tried snap into the OV's headphone jack without a problem.
