So, I've been calling a few sprint stores today. It kills me knowing that I couldn't get my EVO today, but one of the stores I asked that sold out (they all did in my area) told me that they could have some overnight shipments for tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone knew how likely this would happen or how this works. I heard it happened for the pre last year so I wasn't sure if I would get lucky here.

My best buy said they had one left but they're closed. So I will be there at 9 am to make sure I can get mine! I have a preorder but I'm on the stupid second shipment but my friend who works there said they have one left. So imma get it forsure!

The guy at my Sprint store thought they would be getting more in the morning but he wasn't sure. They had 2 left when I went in. I got one and a lady that just happened to stop in to look at phones got the other one, but only after being talked into it by one of the sales guys. I don't think she realized how lucky she was to get one. Then another guy came in to get one and they told him he could be the first one on the waiting list but he got mad and left.
Oh. They're doing waiting lists too? I hope they have some tomorrow, or else I might just order mine from the sprint website. I just hope the overnight shipment doesn't take 5 days.
I just finally got my upgrade eligibility moved up tonight to be able to upgrade now.
If I order the EVO tonight or tomorrow night, realistically it's not going to make a difference right? I want to at least call around tomorrow to see if any local places have any in stock.

My story is actually quite interesting on how I got my eligibility moved up:
I broke my Pre today during work. The screen cracked as I leaned up against something. (I think that was some sort of message from God, seeing as how it happened on Evo-day) I called up retentions and explained that I was just 13 days from being able to upgrade (as I had already called and got my upgrade date moved up 2 weeks like many others), and explained what happened to my Pre. I got the most sympathetic and understanding rep ever, as she instantly approved the eligibility change. She explained that it could take a couple days to put into effect, but I see it has already updated on my Sprint account.
Then I headed down to the corporate Sprint store nearby, and got them to replace my Pre (with no TEP even). This is the second time now where the cracks look like they're coming from the button on the phone, which I guess is a "defect" and can be replaced just under the manufacturers warranty.
So now, unless I can find an EVO tomorrow somewhere, it looks like I'll be receiving both an EVO and a Pre in the mail come Monday or Tuesday.

Wow. Now that's definitely a sign! I recently got my pre and never knew about how they were prone to injury. Im actually still on the 30 day sprint guarantee deal, so I hope to return my pre tomorrow without any trouble. But I still think it would be a cool deal to end up with both the EVO and the Pre, even though the Pre is pretty much officially out dated.
I stopped by my Sprint store to see if they any so I don't have to wait til Tuesday. He said they are getting more tomorrow and give a call about 11:30am

I've got to be honest; I'm going to miss my Pre a lot. Just navigating and multitasking on the Pre is much more seamless than on Android. The hardware (and build quality), is definitely outdated; but the Pre still has tons to offer.
With that said, bring on the EVO and don't look back!
Yeah! I've also found myself swiping away at other phones, its just so clean and simple. I just can't wait to have that android device in my hands!
I think Im going to miss WebOS alot, but definitly not the pre hardware. WebOS had so much potential, I can only imagine what a phone would be like with the EVOs hardware {snapdragon processor, 4.3" screen etc} and WebOS running it.
But Palm really dropped the Ball, its a shame.
I can say that my local sprint store was expecting a shipment of more evo's for tomorrow (6-5) to keep the fun going, So here's hoping your local store is getting some too!

How did everyone fare? I was lucky and got the last EVO at Best Buy today. I was at work from 7-3, but thank God my parents understand my obsession and went and picked it up for me.
I am in a town of about 60,000 in Arkansas. Got my EVO yesterday at the Shack, did not go in until about 3:00 and was told I was only the second one to go out (I did pre-order). To get back on this topic, went to our local Sprint store this morning to check out the cases, they had a sign on the door that they did not have any EVO's in stock, went in and was told that they didn't even have any accessories, and they had no idea when they would get the phones or the accessories.
