yes, i checked many times it has no settings for sms split when i go to settings thru the messaging thread

All the Gingerbread ROMs have this option. I just went to messaging app. Selected menu, and there was the SMS split option.

What ROM are you running?

im using gingersnap but when i look in the thread and then settings, it doesnt have that feature

Just open up the messaging app. Then go to menu/settings. Don't open a thread.

Try free touchpal keyboard. I find it less laggy than swype on this phone and it has some interesting editing capabilities. You can install them both and switch back and forth. Read about it in a thread on this forum.

I did open the settings in the message and it doesn't have sms settings, just mms settings and other ones. im using gingersnap 2.3
