Motion Photos and Google Photos App

Hi, I have checked and tried everything I can think of...has anyone figured out how to get Google Photos App to backup Samsung Motion Photos? Really want both the capture and the 3 sec motion photo/vid. Thanks

Have you saved them on your phone

Yeah, they are taken by the phone...the S8. They are all in the gallery, but only the pic in backed up in google photos app

I don't know the answer, but I have noticed the same thing with selective focus photos - it is actually more than just 1 pic, and gallery let's you switch the focus, but Photos does not.

Maybe Google needs to update their code as more Samsung users want this?
