Because of the news on Twitter that the moto 360 update is getting delayed due to performance issues do you see this as delayed or never getting the update and will you be selling yours?

Well, Motorola is delaying the update, so yup...I see this as delayed haha But it'll get it. I, for one, will not be selling mine...unless the exceptionally good looking Huawei one comes out with a competitive price and dazzling performance. Then I'd sell it and get that one :D

I'm definitely in the same boat as you on Huawei

It looks interesting. From the specs, though, it seems there are less features than on the Moto360, but with better screen. Smaller battery, so let's see how that fares up.

The Moto360 does have an aging processor, though. I wonder just how many more updates it can take...

Even though it is delayed I am sure it will eventually get fixed and pushed out. And yeah while I am anxious to get the update, I am also glad that they are taking the time to get it right instead of pushing out an update that cripples the watch. So while it will be nice to get it, I am happy to wait because currently the 360 still works just fine, the update is just the icing on the top. Besides I literally just bought one on Wednesday to replace my broken one so selling it now would be fairly counterproductive.

Also I have to agree that the Huawei watch does look good but I am not in a hurry to buy another watch anytime soon. Besides I am interested in seeing what Motorola has up their sleeves for the next 360.

I was all in with Motorola when they refreshed their brand and stuck to mostly pure android phones starting with the moto x. I'm on Verizon, so I got the droid Maxx because of the huge battery and the near pure Google experience that was supposed to mean quick updates. The jump to kit Kat was fairly quick, but I'm now disappointed with the failure to deliver on promises. All moto x versions took forever to get lollipop, and their most current flagship for Verizon, the droid turbo, still doesn't have the latest software. The excuse? Exactly what they're saying about the 360 - can't get it to perform well. Interesting, considering a) quick updates were a major part of their rebranding, and b) the other manufacturers seem to be doing just fine getting their devices upgraded to lollipop (albeit with some ill effects but those are on Google, not the manufacturers).

I think part of it has to do with LP itself. KK wasn't a major update, it was essentially still part of version 4 of Android (along with ICS and JB). Lollipop is a major update, and in terms of reliability, their worst one. Essentially as others have said LP is Android's version of Vista. They're having huge issues all around, the Nexus series that is usually updating to the newest version a week after it drops is updating after a month or two of release.

I would say the reasons that others have been able to appear to update more quickly is that 1. They all have skins that may be less affected by the issues in LP since those skins have changed the software so much, and 2. All of those non stock OEMs that have upgraded to LP are on a 5.0.x build, which were the ones that had the most issues, but are also ones that came out quite a while ago. Many of the HTC, LG, and Samsung devices are on something like 5.0.1 or 5.0.2, which I got on my Nexus 7 last December. They were able to get their devices on those builds a couple months after the Nexus series got updated. Since the Turbo is skipping those earlier builds and going straight to 5.1, they will obviously be later in updating, since I believe I got 5.1 on my N7 about a month or so ago.
