Moto Assist Alternative for Texts?

I use a Windows phone (and iPhone) and my wife an original Moto X. I'm considering going back to android, but really like how my phone will automatically interrupt any audio source in my car, read my texts, and give me the option to respond via voice.

Does this requirement pretty much direct me to a Moto X as my only real option, or are there any apps that replicate this experience on other phones? My search suggest "yes", but not really, if I want the best experience without work around or compromises.

Thanks...

Thanks - I've seen this recommendation, but haven't really found any useful user reviews and/or videos that confirm whether or not it will handle everything as well. I'll have to borrow my wife's phone, disable Moto Assist, and check it out....

So I've found that although Agent has similar functionality, it will only work in my vehicle (2015 GMC with Intellilink) when the audio source is Bluetooth. Assist will interrupt the audio even if the source is something else (much like my windows phone). The biggest problem I found when using a 2013 Moto X is ensuring the Bluetooth volume on the phone is up high enough to hear Assist.

So I'll probably add a 2nd gen Moto X to my personal phone portfolio when prices drop later this year as I jump back into Android.
