Moto Assist ?

In drive mode, if I recieve a text, it reads, then asks if I want to reply, all done within the Moto app.
Here's my question:
If I initiate a text (while driving), Moto assist hands off to Google to complete the text. Is this the way your Pure works? (also for initiating a call - hands off to Google)
I'm asking because teh Moto app is sooo much smoother handling the text and calling functions than Google.

This is correct. Drive Mode has never been for initiating SMS messages (coming from the first gen Moto X and pre-Marshmallow Moto X Pure Edition).
