Moto E4 Microphone Not Working

So, for the past two months the people I called complained of my voice getting faint when I place a call on my Moto E4 (Just the regular Qualcom version, not the plus edition). They would ask me to speak up even though I was. Than last night, my phone locked up wouldn't boot. I fixed that. But when I made a call, the person on the other end picked up and said hi. I replied back, nothing. I asked can you hear me. I disconnected the call and checked my LTE signal, full bars. Than, in a meeting, I wanted to use my phone to record the meeting. I open up my recording app, and hit the record button. Nothing, when I played back the recording, it was a half hour a garble.
The first thing I did was clean out the mic ports with compressed air. Nothing! No one could hear me. I than decided to factory reset, and once again, no microphone audio. I'm becoming annoyed. Any way, you guys have fixed this, or should I just RMA it.

Welcome to Android Central! Can people hear you if you're on speakerphone, or use a wired or Bluetooth headset?

if i use a headset people can hear me, just not with the built in mic

One more thing I'd do is boot into Safe Mode and see if the problem persists: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/indevice_detail/a_id/120286/p/30,6720,10216. If it does, then it's a hardware problem -- contact Lenovo if it's still under warranty, or take it to a repair shop.
