Hello,
I have a Moto G (with Android 4.4.2 and system version 176.44.1). The phone will connect to wifi networks, but the wifi logo in the settings menu will appear red and no connection to the internet can be made. At the same time, other phones and computers can log on to the internet through the same wifi network without any problems. I have wiped the cache partition, which after rebooting solved the problem. However, after leaving the wifi range and trying to reconnect to the same network again, the same problem occurs and partition wiping does not solve the problem any more. I have tried various other things also like rebooting, switching wifi off and on etc. none of which solve the problem.
Note that this is a critical issue for me as although i bought the phone in the UK, i am currently volunteering in Ethiopia where wifi acces is scarce, and thus very important to connect when it is available. As indicated, after performing the partition wipe, internet through wifi has worked (once) and other phones and computers can connect to the internet through the same wifi network without any problems so it cannot be router related but must have to do with the settings of the Moto G.
Thank you very much for your help!
Michael
