Moto G phone died, and apps disappeared on reboot

[AC Question]

I was using my camera when my phone died and when I charged it and turned it back on all the apps on my SD card were deleted. I am unable to redownload them as my play store won't open. Every time I try to open the play store I get an error saying "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped."

I have read some questions that said to reset the cache for Google Play store but unfortunately when I click the button to do, the button does not work.

I have also tried restarting it with no success.

Welcome to Android Central! Which generation of Moto G is it? If it has Marshmallow, do you have an SD card that was formatted as Internal Storage?
