So CES is coming up and there will be a ton of info on the Motorola Tablet I bet.

So I doubt it will be released with in a couple weeks of CES. Buuuuut do you think it's going to be contract 3G/4G model at the cell phone stores (most likely) and then roughly 6 months later a Wifi-only version maaaybe.. So 8-12 months a Wifi-version only that I can purchase should I just say F'it and go with something else? I don't want a 3G/4G version because I don't want it on my cell phone bill I only need a Wifi Verision

I think it's hard to say. Verizon and Motorola are in bed together so I'd bet my bottom dollar that this Moto Tablet will be available on Verizon with some sort of monthly data plan. As far a WiFi only version, I've heard they will have it and I've heard they won't -- it's all speculation. Your best bet is to wait and see what they give us at CES and go from there.

All this competition thats coming into the tablet market and theyre going to restrict theirs to no wifi? Wouldnt be a smart move

Well it will have Wifi but I want a Wifi-only version no 3G data plan hardware in it. Ipad has a wifi-only version.

They are usually cheaper and I don't want the month to month contract or whatever they will do with this Tablet.

From what I read, the MOTO TAB is going to raise the roof for Tabs. I would wait. I would get a tab with that kind of power. I am not interested in a large android device, as my X foots that just fine. Honycomb Moto tab? I may drop with that?

Well we'll be finding out much more about this thing in about a week and a half, so hang in there until then!

I'm trying cashed in my company credit card's points and I now have $600 burning a hole in my pocket.. Gotta help out the economy best I can!! ;)

I'm telling you what, if AC doesn't provide me with one to take a look at I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be going back on my promise to myself that I'd never drop more than $400 for a tablet (assuming this thing is over $400) :p

I can't wait to see more of this tablet too! I think my wife wants it more than me everyday she asks if they have a release date yet. I just really hope there's a wifi only model I pay enough for two droid phones, internet and cable I don't need another data plan for something im going to be using on the sofa and in bed. Then again they just want to wrap people into another contract and make that money. I think I speak for alot of people that a wifi only version out of the gate would be KILLER! We shall see...

Data plan

Am I wrong in thinking that even if you get 3g/4g version that you will not have to sign contract? I thought verizon did a pay as u go for tablet data plans.

That should be the case here as well. If it's anything like all of the others, it'll be month-to-month.

Agreed, a data plan isn't even a thought going through my mind... Only way I'm getting this sucker is wi-fi only.

And this is the only tablet to date that I'm considering getting

If the LG G-Slate comes out with something like a Nova display and this thing is just kind of standard I might hold off. I'm about at my "need android tablet" breaking point though..

What is the advantage of the G-Slate over the Xoom? Anything besides the Nova?

It seems the tablets are all relatively close in specs, and I've landed on the Xoom based on availability (first we think) and the vanilla honeycomb OS.

I don't think we know the differences just yet. I'm sure we will see more in the coming weeks. If you're using the Network then Verizon vs T-mobile is one difference ..

They are both vanilla. And the rumors say the G-Slate will have 3D
