Moto X+1

Some information has been leaked out about the MotoG2. It says that the phone will have a microSD slot. I think that this suggests the MotoX+1 will have one also as companies usually have a strategy on microSD support. Re the nexus program samsung etc

Can't post the link to the article. Its on the techradar website

How much storage does the moto g2 have? If it's only 8 they almost have to include an SD slot

All the sites reporting on this are using the same rumor from HelloMotoHK, and many are skeptical. I would trust happasaiyan's word over the random rumor.

I must have missed it. Did happasiyan definitely confirm no sd? I have to say I have been looking forward to any of his posts being he seems to have good info.

Confirmed, no SD slot

Shame. They include it on their budget device but not on the x+1. I thought Motorola was listening and responding to the needs of the customer. Grant it, not everyone cares about sd cards but enough people do that all the other manufacturers have included it on their flagship devices. Well all except Apple. I guess I may have to wait to see if the droids that are coming this fall have it included.

No SD slot? Seriously? I though I read before that it was to have an SD card?

I hope that Motorola change their release strategy for this phone because in Australia we got the X woefully late, and we can only buy it in 16gb. I would get the 64gb if available and released in a timely fashion.

If they drop the ball on release and internal memory capacity here I will have to look at the new Nexus, though I really think the X+1 will be a great phone.

At least with Google I know I'll be able to get the phone right away and in all sizes, I hope Motorola can do the same from now on.

Good luck with a 5.9" nexus. It was down to the x+1 or nexus, but I don't want to use a tablet as a phone.

Same here, I am hoping the 5.2" rumour works out to be true, or I'm really stuffed. I want no other phones as I only like stock Anroid, so the Moto's and the Nexus were it.

I have a 64gb SD card ready to go, which I might not need, so I will be able to sell it, so that's no big deal.

It's amazing that three years after I got a 64gb iPhone I am having trouble getting something with similar capacity. With music and taking videos, I use a lot of space. Even 32gb by itself is gonna be a tough squeeze. 32gb and an SD card, no worries.

Oh well, bring on Sep 4, and then the Nexus 6 or whatever it will be called.

Honestly I don't know about no SD card, although that seems to be the rumor consensus at the moment. I was referring to someone's mention of an optical zoom rumor, which happasaiyan unequivocally shot down.

I don't think so, solely based on how thin the phone is, not to mention the custom backs (probably would have an issue going through wood, for instance). I can inquire, though.

It being in the N6 would be a better bet since the back is more generic. I think it was a little thicker, too, if I'm not mistaken.

That makes me sad. Really, the lack of wireless charging is the only thing wrong with my current device (Moto X). I'm pretty happy with the rest of the features. I wouldn't mind longer battery life, but given the choice of that or wireless charging, I'd pick wireless charging.

So if the FCC filing is the Moto X+1 I did my best to match up the sizes of these 3 phones based on their mm dimensions. Not perfect but it should match within a few pixels. photoshop is not my full time job lol

version 3
x1estimate.png

Moto X 129.3 x 65.3
Moto X+1 (FCC) 140mm x 72.6mm
Nexus 5 137.84 x 69.17

It will be interesting to see, but if you scale is correct, it actually looks like the bezels got bigger...
O well..
Its bigger then I would prefer, but smaller then the S5 and G3. Lets see how the camera performs...

One of the best features of the Droid Maxx is the Qi Wireless charging. I sure hope the new phone has it. I am going to be hard pressed to buy a new Moto if there is no Qi charging.
