Battery life is an issue for me working in building sites for long hours, but hopefully it should be OK as you've just explained.

Sounds like you need to be watching for an announcement of the next MAXX.

But the OG Moto X only has a 720p screen. The difference in screen resolution is enough to make the extra 300mah negligible. However, the battery life on my OG Moto X is great.

Right that's my point. The HTC One M8 with a 1080p display got double the battery life of the old Moto X so even though the new Moto X might only have a 2300mah battery it should still be a significant improvement thanks to the upgraded processor alone.

Hmmm, no mention of SD card slot in those specs...That might be the nail in the coffin for me. Now going back to look at the LG G3 and the Note 4. :-( I was really hoping that this was going to be my perfect phone.

The new G seems to indicate 32GB internal and MicroSD.

I will hold judgement for a few days, but a little underwhelmed. at the amount of storage. If the camera is mediocre then I will look at other options for my upgrade.

At those "giant" sizes, the new Moto X shouldn't even be on your radar.

I'd expect 16, 32 & 64GB options none of with have MicroSD slots on the X (2nd).

This is very disappointing. I was holding out hope for slimmer dimensions. I now find myself looking more at the Sony Xperia Z3c (but I'm on AT&T) or....really hate to say this...iPhone 6 4.7 (based on rumored size).

I'm really bummed. I'm not interested in a phone larger than my current S4. I was also hoping for OIS. The camera does look like a step up, which is very important to me (spoiled by my previous Lumia 1020).

Most (if not all) of the leaks prior to today pointed at 5" or more for the screen size.

Wow, thanks for telling me what I want in a phone!

Who says I can't be willing to accept a bigger phone but prefer a smaller one?

I can't imagine wanting to go from something the size of the new Moto X to a Note 4 just because the former doesn't have an SD card slot.

I went from a note 2 to a moto x, and I could see myself in a g3 if I am not impressed with motos offerings, not everyone cares about their screen size more than a specific set of features that matter to them.

Last year the specs leaked early for the moto x but it didn't tell the whole story behind the x8 platform, I am reserving judgement until the whole reveal and have my alarm set for 2 tomorrow morning :).

You can't imagine a SD card being a deal breaker? In order of importance:
1. SD card
2. Performance
3. Camera performance
4. Size

Not having an SD card means the phone is a non-starter for me.

Man if the G3 came with the 805, I would already have that thing...

The pictures on the German website look really nice.

I'm bummed about the battery size though, I thought they were gonna beef it up 2900…

wow, not having an SD Card is a positive for me.

In order:

1. Software
2. Build Quality
3. Performance
4. Lack of gimmicky nonsense

For those purposes last year's crop of phones went Moto X > Nexus 5 > LG G2 > nothing else existed.

Why not just get a higher GB version?

You're welcome.
