New (Royal Blue) next to old (Ebony)

Have to say, I'm kind of disappointed in the Royal Blue. In reality, it looks a lot closer to the moto maker "Blue."

Why did you replace the ebony?

It seems like most of the Motorola colors are not what they appear to be online. I ordered a cabernet colored hula bumper for my phone and the bumper is raspberry pink on the top and bottom and cabernet in the middle. It looks nothing like that on the website.

Wood was peeling in the bottom left corner and I didn't like the look of the grain pattern.

I ended up sending both phones back to Motorola and just getting a refund. Yesterday was the last day before being locked into the 2 year contract and I didn't want to take a chance on redoing the phone again and being locked in with a phone I didn't even have in my hands.

That's why I went with the black/charcoal bumper. I almost chose blue accent and the blue bumper, but decided not to risk being unhappy with how they actually look.

Seems some got lucky but if mine isn't 100%, I guess I can send back. Do they hassle you at all if you just don't like the looks of the phone like colors and want a refund! I guess you're was carrier so a little different.

You shouldn't have any trouble. You have 14 days to exchange or return your phone for anything, they call it "buyers remorse."

Just ordered it last night. Should be here on the 28th! I'm a huge penguins fan so I ordered Black with Gold accents and black leather back. I'll post pics once I get it in my hand!

Fantastic find and thanks for sharing it here! I still don't know why they use the cartoon-like images on Motomaker instead of photo-realistic views so you can really see the accurate colors.

Moto have extended the sale here in the UK for another day and I'm tempted by the super clean and sexy look of the white on chalk with metallic silver trim.

this is the design i wanted! I am considering white front to make it look really clean/nature looking. but i dont know if the white will disturb my eyes when watching video. also i dont like how stock android still has black bars for the navi buttons. it should be see through with the wallpaper!

Do you experience this with bamboo or is there enough texture on the bamboo grain to make it grippy. Also Android authority showed in a video that bamboo color is actually different for white face or black face models. (lighter on white, darker on black) But yours appears to be lighter. What do you think?

I haven't seen anyone else mention the variation in bamboo tint relative to the face of the phone so I can't speak to that. The bamboo back can be considered slippery for sure but, at the same time, I find it to work well with the natural skin oils, especially if you're in moderately humid environment or have some cause to have slightly moist (but not quite sweaty) hands. I'm able to cradle the phone at pretty extreme angles without having to grip it. So if I late it across my fingers and then tilt my hand, I can usually get it to at least a 75-degree angle before it wants to slip away from my fingers due to gravity. Plus, there's always the dimple to be used to that little extra confidence of grip.

i seen another poster on this thread with the light color bamboo on a blackface, so maybe its random for blackface.

I love stock black, it feels very nexus like.
Nova launcher, standard icons, daskclock, and simple text icons. Nothing special but I love it!
