Moto X 2014 Buying through MotoMaker with Verizon Business account

Hi guys,

I've been trying to buy through MotoMaker for a day now and I always get to the Verizon account page and am told "Cannot verify your account".

It turns out (after speaking with Verizon) my account is still under my father's business account and they can do nothing to help me order a MotoMaker X, at least for now.

Have any of you had issues with business accounts or been able to purchase through the Motorola website?

I'm on a business account and last year couldn't order motomaker.

This year I ordered an iphone 6, still in stock for business customers (I don't know if consumer lines still have availability). Bought the 64gb for $300 (used an upgrade). Sold it in the classifieds for $800 the day after I got it. Ordered my custom motomaker for $535 after a $50 .edu coupon. Net price for my new moto x was $35 +$30 or so taxes on the iPhone.

I saw some comments that made me think that it might be possible to get a pin for moto market on a business line if I went into a store, but I didn't try that.

I just did this and it was a pain! Had to order through Verizon on the phone. Paid Verizon and was supposed to have a pin emailed to me to finish on Motomaker. I waited a day, no pin. Verizon told me to call Motorola, Motorola told me Verizon has all the pins for Motomaker. So I called Verizon again and asked about it, the lady said "we'll. I can give you the pin over the phone if you want".....so 24 hours of waiting and that's all I needed. Now mine is 3 weeks out from being shipped.

Thanks for the advice guys. I ordered mine so easily last year!

I'm really upset. I was online at 7am to order and it wasn't working. Now when I do eventually get it to work I'm gonna have to wait!

I called customer service, told them I still didn't have my pin and the lady said she could just read it to me if I wanted to write it down. Had no issues after that. Problems turned out to be then sending it to the billing email on the account despite me verifying 3 times it would be sent to my email.

1. Go to VZW offical store (not the "authorized retailer) and say you want to buy a MotoX through motomaker.
2. Hope you get a rep that has any clue what you are talking about
3. They will well you a Moto X pin for the cost of the phone ($99 for 16gb or $149 for 32gb).
4. They will confirm an email address for the account, this is where your PIN number should be sent.
5. The email goes out almost immediately if done correctly, there is a link in the email to take you right to the place to insert your PIN
6. Put the PIN in and design your phone
7. Pay the difference of whatever you upgrade to...ie Leather, wood, cases, etc..mine was about $40.
8. Click finish and pay!

Done! I did this the day it came out with my Business account. It is a PITA, but if you get a decent VZW rep it's not too hard. Would be much easier to just do it all online...not sure why not.

Nice! I went to a actual Verizon corporate story on Friday afternoon after my phone attemtpts had failed all day. He couldn't "select" the "Designed by You" Moto X . He showed me his screen....he could select the normal moto x/droids etc but the option was grayed out. Motorola finally got in contact with me and hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday I will FINALLY have my PIN!

That was my experience today. He showed me he couldn't click on the "Custom Moto X" option and suggested I call customer service. That's what I'll do later this morning.

My wife has had the same problem where after talking with Verizon the email never appears with the redemption pin. She is hell bent on the 32gb in crimson or whatever color and has spent 3 days trying to get the order done. I pissed her off because I went to a Verizon store got the 16gb in white/bamboo and came home with a new phone for myself. Ordering a phone through Motomaker should not be this difficult!

Ha.. I'm going through all the same problems. Our vzw rep tells us to use motomaker, then the motomaker sites says it's not for business accounts.
After chatting with a 2 vzw support people, they told me to call Telesales and order it over the phone. I'm going to try it this morning.

We successfully ordered the phone, now I'm awaiting a link and/or PIN to use on the motomaker site.

I got my PIN too. I got the walnut back which adds $25. I try to enter my credit card info but it's saying "there was an error processing your credit card." I chatted with moto support and apparently they're having credit card processing issues at the moment.

What a pain the **** this process has been

I forgot, when I did it the rep left for a few minutes and came back with a specific SKU that he wrote down on a piece of paper. Not sure where he found it, but this could be the problem for those getting the grayed out option.

I don't know the SKU, but I know he didn't just pick the motox on the computer he typed it in by hand.
