Moto X (2014) No sdcard, does this bother you?

YES ! Will not buy because of it. Why ? I travel a lot, and like to carry a lot of movies & music with me. I have half a dozen sd cards loaded 1000's of movies and songs. Why limit what you can watch/read/listen to with only internal memory ? Remember when 4 and 8gb were thought of as a god send, an unbelievable amount of storage ?? Well, 32gb is at that point now. Between the monstrous sized apps and OS requirements, you're lucky to have 1/2 of that left for media. I don't want limitations with no sd cards, do you ?

And no removable battery ? Who wants to lug around a clunky power pod ? I'd rather stick 1-2 extra batteries in my pocket and I can run for days and days without a charger.

Does everyone just stay at home , is that why they don't care about mobility ?

Yes. It's a dealbreaker. For me this would be the perfect phone IF and only if it had an sd card and removable battery. I'll have to get the LG G3. I have a moto X 2013 and a Samsung S4. The moto X 2013 has much easier to use software with useful features. I'm not sure why anyone would buy a Pure Edition. The S4 has horrible software with useless features but a removable battery and SD card which make it better hardware and a better consumer experience. The G3 splits the difference between the two and seems to take the best of both worlds and is the best phone of 2014.

Moto has a removable SD in the Moto G. Why not the X? It's a good way to differentiate between Moto and Nexus devices. Are they afraid it would be too good?

I will not buy a phone without an SD card and removable battery. Phones are expensive and should have the features I look for. These are important features to me and I won't settle for less.
Actually, I use a pendrive to solve that issue with an OTG.

Just go abroad or try to upload a thousand 20mb picts into the cloud... I am constantly travelling and where I am unable to get network, I should be able to continuously take picts or film some clips. SD is one a major selling points...and removable battery (for me) :)

Google Photos addresses this by allowing you to upload via any network or via WiFi only. They even limit it to uploading while you're charging and/or on WiFi for those concerned about a big battery drain while uploading many photos.

For anyone who is lamenting the lack of expandable storage on these phones, well here you go....

I have one of these and it works great. It's easier to keep up with than an extra micro SD card and roughly the same cost but with much greater usability. When you want to transfer files from your computer you don't have to disassemble half of the phone to get it out and you don't need an adapter to plug it in. Yes it would be nice to have the extra storage internal and always there but this is a pretty reasonable compromise.
