Moto X 2014 Phone dialer question.

Is there a way so that when I tap the dialer, it will go straight to the dialer except to my favorites?

I just dug through the dialer on my M8, and I couldn't find anything. Hangouts Dialer is the same way.

Unfortunately there is not a way to set the stock dialer app to open the number pad upon opening. There are several replacements in the Play Store, take a look through those as an alternative.

Also, remember that you can create contact widgets on the home screen, or within a folder, to direct dial numbers.

I have always thought the stock Android dialer was terrible...

If/when we get root, you can install Xposed and the GravityBox module will allow you to go right to the dialer. I had this set up on my last phone with a GPE rom and it was nice going directly to the dial pad.

I have not figured out a way to go straight to dial pad. I did not like it at first but I got used to it. Maybe because I mostly just dialed my favorites.

Exactly, feel the same way. I hardly ever use the dealer anymore as most go to my favorites.
