Moto X (2014) Pre-Order

You should not have to use the assistance of an AT&T store if you get the AT&T branded phone. Last year my X came with a new sim and it activated automatically once I turned it on. I used the Migrate app to transfer everything from my Atrix to the X, and it worked great. If you get the Pure Edition, if you have any issues activating you can probably just use the online AT&T chat or at most a phone call if you have any issues. I like to avoid the AT&T store whenever possible, since finding someone to help me always takes forever. I'm assuming the new X will have the same nano sim as this year's, so I guess you can always swap sims if you prefer to do it that way.

Got a question....I have never purchased a phone outside of contract. Always gone to the ATT Store to obtain new phones when eligible. I assume when my phone arrives all I have to do is switch out the SIM and my phone should be activated and ready to use. No need to go to the ATT Store. Then use the Migrate app to move my "stuff" from the old to the new. Am I correct or will I need to the assistance of the ATT Store?

You are correct.

Unless you need a nano sim card. They will give you one for free.

Re: Anyone see any Moto Maker Displays in AT&T, Verizon, etc. stores?

What about the device itself? Shouldn't the device be in AT&T stores if its shipping from their website on the 23rd? Best Buy? I just wanna go play with this dang thing.
