I'm buying the GSM unlocked which says "works with at&t and Tmobile." Ok but when I hit that selection, the cart describes it as "Tmobile unlocked phone" or something like that. I'm thinking I'm fine that it's one in the same but thought I'd check here.

Re: question for those who have used Motomaker

I don't know for sure but looking at the checkout full price (no contract) page there are three choices - pure edition which has 'works with' statement and two carrier opinions (AT&T & Verizon). If you put a cursor over the pure edition button, a little pop up displays T-Mobile. The carrier buttons have pop ups with display AT&T and Verizon. The phone might well be one and the same but the key questions is will AT&T accept it on their network since clearly there is a specific choice for AT&T in the purchase section. You could be correct and there is not an issue. But if the phone works on both why have a specific opinion for AT&T.

But before I jumped off the bridge on a $500+ purchase, I would verify first. And probably more than posting a question in an online forum. But then I am not very trusting.

If you look around the forums you should find your answer. I bought a pure edition and am using it 4G LTE on ATT. The only thing is there are some cases where there needs to be an IMEI changed on your contract. Its nothing a simple phone call can't fix. Some people just had to pop in their sim card (Nano-SIM) and done.

Good Luck!

I know what your saying. I'll be sure before I hit that button. I took the at&t or Verizon buttons as, if you choose one, it will have the carrier bloat because the highlight goes away from the pure edition version box when you hit at&t. I could be wrong but I thought it was either your choosing pure edition OR a carrier..not both. But,if I hit the Pure edition version which says "works with gsm at&t and Tmobile, the next page had it as "unlocked with Tmobile sim". Does this just to let people know that it works on Tmobile since they don't carry the phone?

Re: question for those who have used Motomaker

I have a Pure Edition and it works great with Att so far! Later on they will unlock the rest of the LTE bands on the pure edition as well.

Re: question for those who have used Motomaker

The Pure edition is unlocked but because of the bands only works with ATT and T-Mobile. What this really means it is just capable of working on those networks and can be on any carrier that uses them. ATT has companies that use their networks. For example my Dad has phone coverage through AARP which uses the ATT network. So it would work for him too. I give him old phones of mine that I unlock from ATT.
The phone comes with a T-Mobile sim because they figure most people will be getting it for T-Mobile. You still need T-Mobile to activate it though.
So if you want an unlocked phone for ATT with no carrier bloat and do not have to wait for ATT when a software update comes then get the Pure Edition.

I probably should have kept my mouth shut with I replied to your OP because of my limited experience with unlocked/pure phones. For many years because of employment and network coverage areas, I was pretty much limited to Verizon. Since that has changed, I have kicked myself a couple times by making decisions before I wrapped my brain around the issue.

Yes, the Pure version and the "T-Mobile" version are one and the same. It ships with a T-Mobile sim but otherwise is carrier-free and works with both T-Mo and AT&T. The other two (Verizon and AT&T versions) will have their respective logos on the back, sim in the slot, and bloatware pre-installed.

Re: question for those who have used Motomaker

I wish I had found this thread before I ordered my phone. I chose the AT&T one cause that was my carrier and was surprised to see the emblem and bloatware when I opened it today. I'm still deciding if I want to keep it. If I do, has anyone activated it over the phone? I'm off contract and I'd rather not lose my unlimited data.
