For those of you that use Cerberus or premium Lookout, do you have a passcode on your phone? I usually do but now I'm thinking I shouldn't. If someone steals my phone or even if I misplace it and an honest person picks it up, don't we want the person to be able to interact with the phone so we can take a picture of them, get a location, or send a message? If the phone is locked, there is less of a chance that they will hold the phone in front of them and more of a chance that they will power the phone off.

supposedly, you are able to do all those actions you list even if the phone is locked. and no, i dont want anybody interacting with my phone.

what makes you think you will get an accurate picture of the person's face if your phone is unlocked?

and yes i have a PIN lock and have set cerberus to take a picture on the first wrong attempt.

Re: Unlock Passcode? Cerberus &Moto X

I disabled the picture taking after three failed attempts on the passcode because for some reason, my wife's Moto X keeps turning on even when she's not saying her hot phrase. I think because of that, I'm constantly getting emails from Cerberus saying that the passcode was entered incorrectly. We'll try messing around with different hot phrases until we find one that works well. I just figured if someone gets a phone that is locked, they will not be messing with it as much, thus reducing the chance to snap a photo with the front facing camera. I'm emphasizing the photo feature because she's a teacher and has had a couple of phones stolen by students already. Getting a photo would be more useful than the location tracking. With Cerebus, you can command it to take a photo anytime.
