Moto X 2014 Voice says, "Opening Google"

On my new Moto X every time I use the touchless, Moto Voice, and ask something, it says, "Opening Google" before it gives me the answer. My original Moto X never did that. I love the touchless control and use it all the time, but Its annoying as hell. Anyone know how to make it stop?

I wish I knew. It is kinda stupid. I'm sure that it's a marketing plan, so everyone hears it say "google"

Yup. It started on me after the Moto Voice update, too. And I agree--it is VERY annoying. They need to MAKE. IT. STOP.

Yes, this is driving me nuts and makes me not want to use Moto Voice for anything. Make sure and send feedback to Motorola.

I think it's because of the release of the hint. If you have your phone in your pocket and you ask for something it's feedback to know something is happening.

That being said. Yes. Hate it. LOL

Me too I thought it was something to do with changing the launch phrase but it was still doing it even with the stock "Okay Google Now". In a world of instant I need to know it is a delay that is not necessary!

Ditto to the above - also since the recent update the voice recognition does not seem as good - before the update it recognised my activation phrase without fail, but now it struggles.

Ditto again. Voice recognition is WAY worse, and the 'opening google' every single time is extremely annoying. It struggles not just with my launch phrase but also with the built in moto voice commands - and when they fail to be recognized, there isn't a voice notification to tell you, it's just silent. Seems like if you're going to make me listen to "opening google' you can at least add "sorry can you repeat that". GAH.

It's Android. It's Google. We get it. We don't need to hear it ALL THE TIME. Please Moto - make it stop! If I hear the "opening Google" one more time I might just stop opening my wallet for awhile. Geez.

Fyi... According to a post on the complaint thread at Motorola forum if you uninstall updates for Moto Voice it reverts to the previous behavior, meaning no "opening google."
