I really do not care at all for phones that have TouchWiz and Sense.

I've had both and that's more or less how I feel as well. I hate Touchwiz and Sense isn't bad but that's not much of a praise either. Moto or Nexus are really what interest me here at this point.

I've paid attention enough to know that if my phone got crushed under foot or destroyed by canine chewing today I would buy another Moto X over either other choice.
Ask again in 18 months. Things may change.

Never been a fan of the HTC One so the M8 doesn't really appeal to me. I do like the S5 and have been considering picking one up.

I would be more interested in Sony Xperia Z2 (5.2" full HD, 4K video recording, sd card, 3200 mAh, waterproof) or Z Ultra (6.44" full HD, sd card, 3050 mAh, waterproof).

Never been a fan of the HTC One so the M8 doesn't really appeal to me. I do like the S5 and have been considering picking one up.

Are you still have the HTC One aS my work phone has a nice phone but I still don't like TouchWiz or sense I like stock vanilla Android so so much

I love reading about new phones /technology but after my time with the GS4 I have no desire to get the 5. Moto X /stock android is good enough for me.

Oh I completely agree after having used sense and TouchWiz I love stock Android so so much so much software acceleration plus the X has 2 gigs of ram

Look these two phones are cool and all, but they are missing two things that have been noted previously...touchless control and active notifications. The M8 has the cool metal finish...that does that looks cool. Other than that...the camera sucks when people want to take pics with their family and all. I'm glad it performs well and all, but it's tall and takes crappy pictures...pass... The S5 is the most rounded device, but it has all the touchwiz bloat. After my S3...I'm good. But this makes the S5 the better phone for ANY person cuz its a more all around device! Those who argue that are crazy. But ultimately the best package right now is the Moto X or the G2 if you can handle LG's skin. I wanted to get the G2 but was too pricey when I bought my X. Yes, the camera on my Moto x is only 10MP, but hell its 6MP more than HTC is offering. It has it's limitations, but I can zoom in on my pics. Those M8 people cannot without looking like crap. I say enjoy your expensive non camera brick you carry with you everywhere. I'll enjoy my moto X... that oh yeah... i can use with one hand or no hands thanks to touchless controls...

Had the M8 for one day. A very, very nice phone. Sense is not nearly as bad as Touchwiz. I couldn't handle the weight ( 160 grams) and the size. Returned it and ordered a Moto X.

My son has had his M8 for about a week. Loves the phone's feel, the front speakers, and the battery life issues that may have been with the 1st generation seem to be gone--he called this morning and told me he has had the phone off the charger since Wednesday! Only thing right now is syncing contacts with his car isn't happening like it should. He had a Galaxy Nexus before and was considering an S5, but I think he's happy with his choice, as is my other son with his G2, and me with my MotoX.

I'm really content with my x. As long as it maintains its performance, I'm hoping I can actually make a phone last for two years

After going from the HTC one to my current moto x, I have little interest in anything bigger than the moto x. Sense is the only skin that I can tolerate, but still prefer aosp most times.

I'm still on a Bionic. I've been wanting a new phone, I wanted the Moto X but the reports of the mediocre camera turned me off to it. I fell in love with the M8 when I first saw it but again, a mediocre camera just isn't acceptable to me. As much as I'd love to see what the refresh of the Moto X is going to be, I can't see myself struggling along with the Bionic all summer long. So it looks like I'll be getting the S5 next week. The G2 is also a possibility, but those goofy buttons are kind of turning me off and with VZ having a BOGO on the S5, that's probably where I'm headed.

If u still on the bionic... That's amazing. I had the bionic as well and got rid of that thing as soon as possible. Horrible updates and slow software... But it did have a nice dock which I still use as my alarm clock. I upgraded to the S3 and I liked it okay but hated TouchWiz. I would wait for G3 or moto x 2 if possible.

I know it is more stock. But call me crazy, I don't like stock android that much

Installed CyanogenMod on my s3. Had it on for a week and went back to touchwiz. Tw has a lot more features than stock. I like it more

Nothing about the S5 or the M8 is trying to draw me away from my Moto X. Now the successor to the Moto X may be a problem for me if it is executed properly. I wouldn't willingly give up Touchless Control and Assist so hopefully those features are included (and improved somehow) in the new Moto.

I said the same thing until my battery kept tanking on my S3. I was unsure about the moto x. But playing with it in the store doesn't show what it can do. U have to know how useful active notifications and touch less control are. It's hard to see that in a store. I love the moto x and I have never liked moto before. Like this phone so much I got one for my wife. I don't think the S5 has enough useful features.

I'm happy with my Moto X and don't think it makes sense to upgrade to one of these. I have been reading all of the reviews though because I'm trying to recommend either the GS5 or M8 to my brother and haven't decided which one he should upgrade to from his Droid Razr Maxx or whether he should wait for the LGG3 or Moto X2 (X+1?).
