For me, touchless controls was much much better in 4.2 than it is on kit kat. I get, "can't reach Google at this moment" errors and it seems much harder for it to get all my words correctly.

I have found if you are getting mixed results though that it's often in the training portion of activation that needs to be worked out.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your phone. The latest Google search update that came with 4.4 sucks in my book.

I'm looking forward to the 4.4.2 update where I'm expecting them to have cleaned up several of these quirks and that's what the extra wait is for on this update.

Thanks! Man, i thought it was the KK but so many people kept saying it's awesome and ridiculous to wait cuz there's no problems, etc. lol. I thought, okay, let me not not just make that assumption. lol. Man, i was *this* close to sending this freakin' phone in and telling them to work it the heck out. Thanks. And i sooooo did not want to update, but they wouldn't let me not and i kept reading it was impossible to stave it off. ugh. In the future I’ll go the extra mile to keep them from f’g up my phone. The active listening is my favorite feature of this phone.

I don't think we are far out from the update. Michelle who seems to head up the camera for Motorola has been talking about a camera update coming soon, granted that will most likely be done via Playstore.

For the most part kit kat hasn't been that bad in my opinion. Just a few hiccups, but like yourself touchless controls is my favorite. I use it for texting in the car non stop. Lately not so much haha. I get burned out on it getting words wrong when it didn't use to.

I know it was mentioned but have you cleared the cache after a factory reset? Like from the recovery console?

Where is that located? Although if it didn't work for you, probably won't for me either. Although maybe it will help with my app closings? Probably not, but worth a shot.
